Oh hey there! I feel like I said that many times last year. 2019 was a great year of writing for me. 2020 started off great and then just kind of blew up like everything else!
One thing that hasn’t changed is the desire for people to set New Year’s Resolutions. I don’t necessarily make resolutions and the word “goal” was never in my vocabulary until a few years ago when I found a purpose. Now setting goals is one of my favorite things to do. But first, lets reflect on a few from last year shall we?
You can find the blog post from last year here but here is a little refresh in case you forgot…
- lose the negativity. update: I would like to think I am a more positive person now days. I still have my moments but having kids has definitely made me look at a lot with a much different perspective!
- run 700 miles. update: failed. only ran 560. I blame it on pregnancy and COVID.
- exercise self love. update: I will never be perfect but I once read “I wish I appreciated my body when I was ten years younger and ten pounds lighter.” It may not have gone exactly like that but it rang a bell. We will never look the same so we need to appreciate and love it all!
- read 12 books. update: I read 10. I will take that as a win considering the year before was six and the year before that was two. progress people!
- be proud of my progress. update: eh. towards the end of the year I was stuck in a DEEP comparison and instagram rut. still continuing to work on this!
- get back to pre baby weight. update: I did but not near as strong as I was pre kids. hoping to gain that strength back this year!
- grow a business with the blog. update: again, I made progress. I will say I learned ALOT. this is a business that is changing every single day and it is tough to keep up with!
- grow closer to god. update: I still get very intimidated talking about things like this. I know church isn’t the end all, be all but it makes me feel so much better when we attend. I am happy to say, pre Covid and when things opened back up, we became regulars. of course, this helped me grow my relationship with him so I will call this one a success!
- complete home projects. update: big fat fail. we always chicken out. #coachinglife and always moving. big things coming in a few weeks though!
- get more creative in my style. update: I still wear the t-shirt and the leggings but I did take some risks. I mean, I guess as much as you could for staying home most of the year?
I would say 2020 wasn’t a total bust. I mean I set some high expectations and it really just kind of had a plan of its own….
Be sure to come back towards the end of the week to see part two, my goals for 2021!
