March 1, 2019 is such a big day for me and the football fashionista. I chased after a dream and a vision that I have been thinking about for years. I took a leap of faith, let my guard down, and put myself out there for the world to see. I can not believe that one year has already passed and we are beginning year two. What a wild ride it has been!
The amount of love and support that has been shown to me has been overwhelming. I never would have imagined that this many people would stand beside me in something that could easily turn into something so negative. I have grown and learned a lot in the past year and today I would love to share my five biggest lessons I have learned!
- not all goals will be reached and that is okay. there are a few goals that i reached and i am proud of that. on the other hand, there are some that i didn’t meet. i realize that a lot can be done with a hobby and a full time job but it is okay to let somethings go for your sanity.
- there are mean girls and it is sad. let me clarify and say that this did not directly happen to me (and i am very aware that it will one day) but i attended an event and overheard some other girls talking about other influencers. it was sad to me and i was so glad that I was not associated with them before then. just know that i don’t support people that have an attitude like that.
- it is more than just snapping a picture. people see what i do and think i just stand and smile. wrong. i plan a ton of content, write blog posts twice a week, do try ons, engage with other influencers throughout the day, and that isn’t even all of it. it may look easy on screen, but behind the scenes it is very time consuming. i say all of this recognizing that i am not even a full-time blogger and could not even imagine how some of the juggle it all.
- not everyone will love your style but they will support you! there are many women that i love to follow that i could never pull off their style but i still love to support them. the same can be said about many that follow me. i don’t expect every single person that comes across my page to fall in love with what i share, but i know that they are kind, genuine, and show up with their support every single day.
- most importantly: stay true to yourself. i will be the first to say that i have fallen into the comparison trap more times than i can count and have to reel myself back in. there are girls that are prettier, more fashionable, have the picture perfect shots with the picture perfect outfits. all of that to say, the biggest component that i have to remember is to stay true to myself and what I share. i try to change things up every now and then but most importantly, i will never try to be something that I am not!
Once again, thanks for always being my number one supporter and coming back to read what I share twice a week. Thank you for all the faith and encouragement that I am provided constantly from you all. Most importantly, I am thankful for all of the endless oppurtunities that I have been provided and the opportunities that are to come in the future!
And yes, thank you you to my husband for being the best behind the scenes, right hand man.
