If you missed Part One of my recap you can find that here.
Our second day we slept in until 9:30 am, and I can’t remember the last time that I was even able to do that. We hit up breakfast again and I really don’t even know why. We ate so much the night before that we werent even hungry but vacation calories don’t count, right?
After breakfast we decided to venture out of the downtown area and check out the Willie Nelson and Friends Museum. It was pretty neat to see all the memorabilia and the history behind his career. This museum was definitely on the smaller side, but we wanted to change it up and do something different and this fit the bill!
Once we finished at the museum, we walked across the street to the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, and oh my word it was gorgeous. I could have just sat in their atriums for hours and looked at all the wonderful landscaping. So pretty, so much to do, and so big! I would love to come back here one day and stay with KB, so he can go to their huge indoor/outdoor waterpark.
We then took an uber to an area called “The Gulch,” so that I could check out some of the little boutiques that I had on my list. First, we stopped by Kristen Cavallari’s shop Uncommon James. Super cute, little shop filled with all her products. After, we walked to Jessie James Decker’s store Kittenish, and I really loved all of her pieces, especially her cute workout gear. Finally, we checked out a little cosmetic store called Winky Lux. H was THRILLED about this place, but I was excited because they had these little booths where you could take pictures. We stayed for about .5 seconds because he had had enough by this point.
Once we had enough at The Gulch, we walked back down to Broadway and had the best fire pickles I’ve ever had in my entire life. They were the Nashville Hot Fried Pickles at The Wildhorse Saloon and I wish we would have gone back and gotten them 45 more times. Of course I had to work in some ice cream, so we stopped at the original Goo Goo Cluster Factory and grabbed some of their birthday cake flavor! We ate dinner that night at a place called The Row Kitchen and Pub. We had some deviled eggs for an appetizer and then we split the Nashville fried hot chicken. It wasn’t the original, but it was pretty good! After dinner we went back to The Wildhorse Saloon and played shuffleboard for like three hours. I only beat H one time, but we had such a blast!
Our last day in Nashville was the Fourth of July and holy people. We knew it would be crowded, but we didn’t prepare ourselves for what we experienced. The day wasn’t too bad, but that evening before the fireworks we wanted to crawl into a hole. We made the most of our last day by relaxing in the hotel for some of the day, then we got an AMAZING milkshake at Legendary Milkshake Bar, and then finally ended the day with one of the most amazing firework shows we have ever seen.
Our last day was very low key but it was the best way to end our trip and come back home to our boys! And yes, we would go back, ten million times over again.
