Spring break recap… we traveled all over West Texas. We started our trip going to Lubbock to see my sisters and my niece. Then we drove to Hobbs, New Mexico to see my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. We finished off the trip in San Angelo visiting the in-laws and seeing H’s side of the family. It was a busy week but we know that we have to make the most of our time that we get off. That means driving and seeing everyone since we are limited to the weekends that we can travel.
KB turned eleven months old over the break and I just can’t believe that he will be a ONE YEAR OLD next month. He is growing and changing everyday and it is so fun to watch him discover new things. Plus, we are having a blast teaching him new tricks like waving, clapping, and doing his “indian call.”
Before the break I passed my ESL test. PRAISE. THE. LORD. For those of you who are educators, you understand how annoying this test is. Now I can move onto the fun stuff like planning his birthday party! On Thursday, I will have an AWESOME amazon haul coming y’alls way, but today I wanted to give you a little sneak peek of this tee that is included. It is so soft, comes in long sleeve or sleeveless, and in different colors! I personally liked the long sleeve in the orange and black because it is perfect for the cool, spring mornings and warm afternoons.
Finally, I know that I have some new readers so I wanted to give you some fun facts about me that you may not know! Next week I turn twenty-seven, yikes. I like to think that I have lived a very interesting and probably confusing life. I think I could go on and on about the experiences that I have encountered thus far but I will keep it to this short list.
- I grew up in Poteet, Texas on a pig farm.
- I showed pigs, steers (just for a year), and played volleyball in high school.
- I rodeoed since I was three years old, yee-haw!
- I graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Education and now I am currently working on getting my Master’s Degree in Education Administration.
- I taught Agriculture for three years and now I am a Special Education teacher.
- I hate capital letters. Hince, why sometimes I don’t use them on here.
- I have the biggest sweet tooth in history and I will always pick ice cream over actual food. Ben and Jerry’s and DQ Blizzards all the way!
- My parents are divorced so that means I have one sister, three step-brothers, two step-sisters, three nieces, and one nephew!
- My Dad’s house burned down when I was in eighth grade.
- I have crooked pinkies, it runs in the family.
- I hated running in high school, now I get up at four am every morning to run.
- I have lived in 12 different houses/apartments and seven different cities/towns.
- I never wanted to have kids, now I want five.
- I have never done anything to my hair besides cut it.
- I am a Monday-Thursday health freak, weekends are my weakness.
- I am a people pleaser and worry too much about making everyone else happy. I am slowly learning to let this go.
- My mom, my aunts, step-sister, sister and all of my cousins (which are all girls) have the same middle name, Lee. If we ever have a girl, I hope to carry on the tradition!
- I tried to snow ski once and was terrified so it only lasted five minutes. Sorry H!
- I am a planner but hate making decisions.
- I hate seafood but have never tried it. I can’t fathom tasting something that smells so bad.
- I love cold weather but hate being cold.
- I hate listening to people eat. Just thinking about it makes me cringe.
- My first job was at HEB. I was a bagger and then moved up to a checker. This might explain my love of going to the grocery store.
- My closet is almost always a wreck but I am not a messy person.
- I am a shoe and handbag addict. I think it is actually becoming a problem.
- I always have at least ten tabs open on my computer.
- Family is super important to me and the biggest challenge has been living so far away from them!
For my birthday this year, I wish for everyone to love the skin that they are in. Society puts pressure on us to be perfect. We are all beautiful in our own way and we should never forget that! Thank you for stopping by and for getting to know me a little bit better!
